[沖縄 フィッシング] Saltwater Fishing Okinawa

We made it out to buoy #8 off the south end of Okinawa Sunday.

The mahi were in pretty thick, but were only in the 7-10 pound range. We caught a couple of small wahoo trolling, and some decent sized tuna. About 250 pounds of fish in all. Not too bad considering that only 4 people out of the group were fishing.

Another Fishing Challenge is scheduled for this Wednesday, one for next week on Tuesday the 4th, and one for Tuesday the 11th of September.

I expect the mahi fishing to start picking up, so be sure to get your reservation in early!  

Finally back on the water yesterday, after a long layoff due to high seas and typhoons.

We had our first Fishing Challenge, which went quite well. We boated 1,000 pounds of marketable fish. Most were tuna in the 10-15 pound range, lots of nice skip jacks, and several nice rainbow runners. We released the smaller non-marketable fish, and some of the larger fish as well (unintentionally).

All in all a great success for the first Fishing Challenge. Looking forward to the next one!  

No fishing report again due to high seas.

The typhoon has passed, and now its back to summertime weather...hot, humid, and seas of about 1 meter. Typically, when no one has been out at sea for a while, the fishing is excellent. This week during the week should be awesome! We are ready to go as early as tomorrow!
